Hello there! And welcome to Dandelion Seeds, an illustrated newsletter in search of beauty and wonder in the world.
This time last year, Elena and I had just made our way back to Belgium after spending time with family in the US. And on one of our layovers, there was a small moment that almost felt like a blessing.
I wrote a story about it after we got home, and it’s still one of my favorite illustrated essays I’ve created yet. It’s called “Blue Skies and Tailwinds,” and today feels like a good moment to share it with you again.
Here’s to the blessings that find us in unexpected places,
Candace
What a lovely story and wish. We're all glad you noticed that cake!
What a wonderful thing to witness. I was on a flight once where it was announced that the pilot was flying their first ever flight after obtaining their license and requisite training hours. The flight was smooth as butter, and upon leaving the plane, that pilot stood beaming with joy as we passed and congratulated them. I'll never forget their face, the pride and excitement they showed.
