Hello! And welcome to Dandelion Seeds, an illustrated newsletter that is hand-painted and hand-lettered, from my desk to yours.

Today is an exciting day, friends. After glimpsing volcanoes over Java, the Andes over Chile, and London from 30,000 feet, we’ve made it to the last stop of “Home is a Window Seat” — the lush hills of Brazil.

The window seat that inspired this final chapter was also the original spark for this entire illustrated essay series — but I realized that to fully express why that tiny oval window has stayed with me, I needed to put the moment in context.

I needed to bring together the other window seats I’ve looked out from and loved, and go about the business of seeing what they’ve meant.

Thank you as always for being here, and I can’t wait to hear what you think!

With love,
Candace

Candace, when my son was born (decades ago) we lived in Germany and I nursed him until the age of two without obstacles -- but at two yrs I was so ready for that change of perspective you mention -- a distance, a different view, even a view from across the room. No longer just looking at the side/top of his head : ) -- I weaned him then! Thanks for another beautiful essay and paintings.
