Dear friends,
It’s great to be back with you today. As I recently shared, this fall has held some of my hardest moments of motherhood yet, and September’s letter to paid subscribers didn’t quite make it out.
But as I write this, Elena and Eva are napping in the room next door, and I just spent a few minutes looking over photos from the past couple of months.
I’m grateful for the chance to step back and remember all the joy this season has held as well. We’ve painted leaves and carved pumpkins and watched the sun set over the Scheldt, making the most of the shorter days.
Last week, Elena even got to go trick-or-treating for the first time, at a Halloween event in our neighborhood, and I loved watching my normally-outgoing daughter grow shy, quietly taking it all in before walking up to her first doorstep.
