I love this, Candace--and it reminds me of my sweet next door neighbor (age 9), who said something that I think about all the time. One time when her family and I were hanging out at a local park, she was sitting in her inner tube at the river when a gush of water flipped her over; she popped up quickly and said, "that wasn't was I hoping for!"
I've turned that phrase over so many times because it's such a positive way to view the unexpected....like your daughter's phrase. Love their innocent little minds!
Love this! I've noticed my tendency to skim lately, all the essays about so many ways to start a new year, until this one. it's like a breath of fresh air. The way you compose these delightful words with your watercolor, I find so very refreshing. Thank you!
