Hello there! And welcome to Dandelion Seeds, an illustrated newsletter that is hand-painted and hand-lettered, from my desk to yours.
This week marks the end of our third season of Dandelion Seeds, and it brings me a lot of joy to look back on everything the past few weeks have held:
Two new illustrated essays, “The Dutch Word for Gift” and “To Know You Very Happy”
A new community edition of Dandelion Seeds, The Words that Remain
And two additional essays for paid subscribers, on creative evolutions and creative perspective.
And now, as always, I’m excited to bring our latest season to a close with a special art download, that you’re welcome to use and enjoy in your day-to-day life. At the end of this post, you’ll find two new iPhone wallpapers; all you need to do is click on the button below each image to download it for free.
This month’s download features the book illustration that I created for The Words that Remain, and when I thought about what I might want to hand-letter over the artwork, I immediately thought of two words that will remain with me from this season:
Kolay gelsin.
They were shared by Jeffrey Streeter, who writes a wonderful new Substack called the
, and just in case you missed it last week, here’s the story he shared with the phrase:May it come easy to you.
I was so moved by those words the first time I read them. They feel like a blessing or a prayer, and I couldn’t imagine a more fitting phrase to end this season with.
Whatever the work awaiting you today — be it a story that needs shaping, a garden that needs tending, or caring for little ones or loved ones in your life — kolay gelsin perfectly conveys my wish for you.
May it come easy to you, friends.
With love,
Candace
