Ahh I love that, Emy! It was such a surprise for me to learn as well. I feel like it's definitely not something that's known or talked about as much as you think it would be here, so I loved discovering that fact :)
Thanks so much for reading and being here, and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season 🎄🤍
Lovely! We are all so connected. Just ordered a telescope! to better view our skies, this very fitting this morning and decorating our palm tree…what fun and beauty in Belgium. Thank you. Merry merry.
Ahh that makes my day to hear, Susan! What a beautiful moment of connection, and I can only imagine the wonder and awe the new year will hold for you with a telescope by your side. Thanks so much as always for reading and being here 🤍✨
Yes! I love how you put that, Joanie -- and what a beautiful phrase to learn in Hawaiian as well. Thank you so much as always for reading and being here 🤍
So much beauty from a forest where the Battle of the Bulge raged from December 16,1944, to January 25, 1945. It was a difficult Christmas for those who lived there and for the young men on both sides who fought there.
The shattered trees from constant artillery barrages have turned into Christmas trees, a beautiful swords into plowshares conversion.
When we went to a Christmas tree farm to chop our own tree, the farmer advised us to cut above the first node near the bottom. That way, the tree would be able to grow back. Knowing that made me feel better about not killing a tree just for a few weeks in our house. Do the farmers in Belgium do this to continue growing their crop?
I’m from Belgium and I didn’t know that 😅 So used to see many trees at Christmas 🎄 Thanks for sharing 🥰

What beautiful imagery in today’s essay. I love watching the stars and walking among trees so your writing really resonated. Merry Christmas!
Beautiful. 🎄✨💜
Beautiful story and art! *
Ya estuvo por favor
oh that's a nice story, I like that.
I love this. The way I can scroll down and feel the trees and imagine the playfulness in your voice. Lovely! Thank you!
The scent of a freshly cut pine is the scent of Christmas time to me. It could be July and that smell will always bring nostalgia for December.

Peace on earth and good will to all of us!
I appreciate what you do. And I get it, but:
I think I want my trees to still be growing,
While the stars remain above them,
Beyond our grasp.
Thank you.
