Home is a Cup of Tea: Chapter 1
On finding, and redefining, home.
Last week, I loved sharing about the power of creative journeys, and how Dandelion Seeds has been evolving for me so far. As I work on bringing a new essay to life, I’m excited to republish my very first illustrated essay here, which originally appeared on Longreads.
“Home is a Cup of Tea” tells the story of my search for home through the different teas I discovered while traveling. For the next six weeks, I’ll share a short installment from the essay each week, starting with the prologue and Chapter 1 today. I hope you enjoy reading them over the weeks to come — with a cup of tea by your side, of course!

Home most definitely is a cup of tea at my cottage. Your art and words are delightful!
There's nothing in the world a cup of tea can't make better :) I'm rather partial to a cup of Earl Grey, although smoky Lapsang Souchong (always loose leaf) is also a favourite. Although I live in England, the first time I ever saw a tea chest was in Florida - Disneyland in fact. I chose Orange Pekoe on that day, but couldn't work out why it didn't actually taste of oranges (doh.) Thank you for sharing your beautiful story and illustrations and for giving me pause for thought in my day.
