This was a lovely series, made lovelier by your art. This final one sounded so idyllic but it was also a great reminder that home is a container for both joy and sorrow because they are both part of life. Thank you, Candace, and to all the writers who were part of this series.

Beautiful! And yes, I love that idea of home as the container for both our pain and our joy ❤️

Vicki, I love that both you and Priya used the word container in your comments here -- it is such a perfect word to encapsulate what home is and means to us 🤍 Thanks so much for reading, and for your lovely comment!

I come back to this installment over and over again. It's not our lake, our cabin, but it's so similar I can hear our family home in the words and images. Like others have said, the lake is big enough to hold both joys and sorrows and still be colored gold.

These were indeed poems in the way you presented them, little precise gems that touched the senses. That's the essence of poetry. I'm glad I've subscribed to Dandelion Seeds. Thank you for your work.

That's lovely to hear, Gord. My husband Jose and I once spent a few nights in a cabin near Lac Brome and loved our time there -- it's a beautiful part of the world.
