Yes! I'm already looking forward to welcoming the snowdrops and daffodils (and crocuses and bluebells... :) back next spring -- they've been such wonderful companions these past couple of months, and I can only imagine the beauty lining your path as you walk the PCT. Hope it's been everything you hoped it would be and more so far 🙏
Me too! Ours are fading fast this warm week. They’re my daughter’s favorite and we planted them for her. Every year when they fade, it reminds me she’s another year older, too. Which is a great thing, and also sad. Daffodils are so poignant for me. I loved this piece. 💛
Thank you so much for sharing that, Rebecca -- I love that daffodils hold so many layers of meaning for you, and that they help to mark time not only in the natural world for you, but in the world of your family. That's so beautiful to hear about 💛
You've certainly filled my heart with pleasure with that gorgeous painting of that daffodil, Candace! And you've added to the bliss of solitude. Thank you!
Ohh that's a new quote to me, how lovely to know that even Wordsworth was inspired by daffodils :) Thanks so much for sharing that, Jeffrey, and for your kind words -- and please keep soaking up the beauty of the cherry blossoms for us all! 🌸
Thank you so much for your beautiful comment, Vicki, and yes! From cherry blossoms to daffodils, the natural world has so much to teach us about impermanence, doesn't it? 🌸
I never knew daffodils would be gone so fast! Not quite so fast as cherry blossoms, perhaps, but they definitely seem to have just as much to teach us about impermanence 🌼
Thank you so much, Susan, and yes! All of the artwork here on Dandelion is hand-painted by me, and I also hand-letter all of the essays as well 😊 I'm so glad you enjoyed this.
That is a beautiful painting of a daffodil and observation. Thank you Candace.
Thank you, Gayle! I'm so glad you enjoyed this 💛
Lovely, Candace. But even though their flowers fade and die, they resurrect in the Spring, and there is also another Spring.

"For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils."
Wordsworth

Okay, yes. Popular opinion on Substack is right. This one is beautiful.
Ah! That's so kind of you to say, Peter -- thank you, thank you 🙏
Beautiful and poignant piece, with the ache of loss and impermanence between the lines. Thank you Candace 💛

Autumn is teaching me the same over here right now. I'm loving this season so much this year 🤎🍂
Their sun shininess always brings such cheer! Another beautiful way to begin my day reading your words and seeing your glorious art. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your wonderful words, Jodie -- I'm honored and delighted to hear you enjoy what I share here on Dandelion Seeds 💛
Such a beautiful reflection - let the daffodils carry you! 💕

I’m always a bit weary to pick daffodils, because I know just how quickly they’ll be gone! Beautiful illustration
