Beautiful, Candace. It helps mask the memory of wildfires and a smoky summer. 4 days of rain cleared the air and now these images. Beautiful.

Thank you so much, Switter, and I'm so sorry to hear about what a smoky summer it's been for you. I'll be hoping there's lots more rain headed your way in the coming days 🙏

it is raining hard today. The fires have lost their enablers! The rain has washed the sky.

I have five married sons and five grandchildren and treasure any time with them. Especially my only granddaughter, not that the 4 grandsons are anything but fun. But a girl, my heart!

Yes! They are truly something special -- it was a beach day I won't soon forget, and I can't wait for my two little girls to grow up making paper flowers every summer here 🌼

I reread your post and it left me thinking about how we need to experience the world so we know all the goodness that is possible and to enjoy it for ourselves even as others enjoy whatever goodness comes from our own cultures.

As someone who had the pleasure of learning Dutch as a second language, I can almost feel your posts about these words.

I didn't know it at the time, but learning the word "uitstraling" was a life changing event. It's sad that google translates it as "appearance". It's so much more than that!

Vakantie sounds like a good word and an even better idea. The Belgian version of "gone fishing" perhaps?
