I simply can’t wait!!!!! Your words and paintings 🖼️ make me pause and take a mindful moment to breathe in all the little joys peppering my path. Thank you.
I just discovered your beautiful writing and illustrations and they have brought great pleasure to my day. Have you ever seen the art of Tasha Tudor? I cherished her books as a child and love them still. Your art has the same effect on me and I am so grateful I found it!
Cathy, thank you so much for your comment -- it's lovely to connect with you. And yes! I do indeed know and love the artwork of Tasha Tudor, so it's a tremendous honor to hear my art also brought you joy this weekend :) Thank you for such wonderfully affirming words, and I look forward to sharing more stories with you soon!
Words are SO hard, and I have to say that the more that Whatsapp has become a primary means of communication in my life, the more I also find myself leaning on emojis -- sometimes they just say it better, don't they?
Also, thank you for this :) Be it in words or emojis, your support always means so much 🙏
A tidbit to whet my appetite. I too enjoy and am captivated by sighting cargo ships waiting in a bay. Each time I go through Ladysmith, BC I check the waiting ships--what cargo are they waiting for or bringing, or where are they from and what does the crew do while they're waiting. I love the possibilities the scene presents. Thank you for bringing your special gift of seeing the extraordinary in daily.
Thank you for such a beautiful comment, Diana. I loved reading all the different wonderings and possibilities that ships inspire for you, and they even remind me of a quote I came across while working on this post, by poet Robert N. Rose: "Ships are the nearest things to dreams that hands have ever made, for somewhere deep in their oaken hearts the soul of a song is laid." I'm so glad you enjoyed this first sneak peek, more to come soon! 🤍
Oh gosh, I ADORE this little illustration! Like you've mentioned, the blue is oustanding and I love the little foamy trails of water! So excited for the essay

I love your words here, just as I've loved getting to take in all the little joys peppering our path these past few weeks in Montevideo! 🤍

(Yes, I've now completely given up on communicating using words. Words are HARD.)
